====== R-916 ====== **Microwave relay station R-916**; manufactured by Alcatel Schweiz AG / Thales Zürich. At the end of the 1990s, there was an increasing demand for 2 Mbit/s microwave relay stations for the army's automatic microwave link supported telecommunication system IMFS. The R-916, which was a successor model to the R-915, met these requirements. ===== Technical data ===== * Principle: transceiver (microwave relay station) * Operation modes: Modulation 4-DCPSK * Frequency range: 4401 - 4999 MHz * Sensitivity: AM (A3) / Selectivity: * Transmission capacity: baseband signal 2048 kBit/sec, HDSL ==== Power supply ==== * Mains operation: * Rechargeable battery / battery operation ==== Dimensions ==== ==== Accessories ==== ===== Station material ===== The microwave relay station is technically based on the R-915 station, which is combined with the new BSG 93 trunked signal encryption unit from Omnisec, which is used for message encryption and remote control of the microwave relay station's transceiver. Distances of up to 60 km can be covered with the transportable antenna system and distances of up to 120 km with a fixed installation of a 120 - 180 cm antenna dish. ===== Technical principle ===== ==== Tube assembly ==== ==== Development ==== The system was developed in 1995/1996, the badge ordered in November 1996 (450 sets) was delivered in 1999. ==== Deployment ==== ===== Technical documentation ===== ==== Further information ==== * Richtstrahl bei den Übermittlungstruppen, W.
